Location

Set in a forest surrounding, and high on the North York Moors, we are perfectly situated only 1 mile from the centre of Helmsley. The town itself is very quaint and full of lovely shops, boutiques, tearooms, pubs and restaurants.

Helmsley itself has its’ own walled garden Built in 1759. Helmsley Walled Garden is a five acre garden sitting beneath the imposing ruins of Helmsley Castle. It provided the vegetables, fruit and flowers for the table of Duncombe Park until just after World War 1 when it was leased as market garden.

For the foodies out there, you can experience a Michelin start restaurant only 2 miles from the huts in Harome – The Star. The Feather’s pub in the town centre never disappoints.

For walkers we have acres to explore and the famous North York Moors national park only 10 miles away by car. Visit the famous Castle Howard, one of Britain’s finest stately homes situated 14 miles drive from our lodges.
